Packs a lot for the buck

Works very well under heavy load. Easy to setup. VERY easy to change oil without a mess (Well thought simple design). Consumption is on the mildly high side in comparison to Honda EU7000is (I own both). Remote/Automatic start seems to work well for now… we’ll see later what happens during winter (-25°C). Both gasoline and propane (And the switching in between -> when OFF) are working flawlessly. Less heavy to handle in comparison with … but that lacks of weight is easily explainable: a LOT of plastic in the structure is present where it might have been better off to use metal. That amount of structural “cheap plastic” creates “warps” (e.g. back cover) in different sections; that is no good but not a show stopper. Such a part was freely floating inside as 2 screws used to hold it were off (And also floating). This in turn created an issue with the CO sensor… speaking of the devil: it is VERY sensitive (Too sensitive for my taste) so make sure to run it outside “in the field” and not inside (VERY DANGEROUS, do not do it!). Lastly, the exhaust pipe anchor for the spark arrestor (2 screw holes mounted via a 2 WEAK solders) is EASILY broken if you plan to route the fumes outside a closed environment (NOT recommended). If you do, don’t use metal hose/tubes. Use the more expensive silicone/fibreglass flexible hose. The filling hole for the gasoline could have been a bit bigger and speaking of bigger, so could be the tank; a five-gallon (20 liters) tank would have great. All in all, it looks like a VERY good investment for the $$$, albeit it’s far from being perfect.

Made for camping

October 16, 2024

The generator was easy to set up. At the campsite it worked great, except remember the O2 sensor. Do NOT block the exhaust even slightly or it will shut off. Had in the bed of my truck and it vibrated to the tailgate and …

Also the propane hose leaks from the tank fitting no matter how tight you get it. Ordered a new one. Other that that it’s great. Love the remote start.

Compact and quiet

October 9, 2024

Ok just started to do the break-in procedure. The GOOD: It’s fairly quiet under load. Side panels come off easily. Easy to move around and store. Remote start (haven’t tried it yet). Dual fuel.

Sips gas at half load. The NOT IDEAL BUT ACCEPTABLE: I don’t like how the hour/voltage/watts/amps meter cycles thru without being able to select one or the other and have it stay up on the display. The battery is tiny! It won’t last long in cold weather without a trickle charger on it. Everything is stuffed in behind covers but that’s to be expected with a closed frame generator so not a big deal. DEALBREAKERS: None really. You get what you paid for.I think it’s a good price for a good generator. It’s no $4000 Honda or Generac but I hope it continues to run good and do the trick to keep my house warm and my frozen food frozen this winter. I may update this after I see how it handles this winter in Maine. I hear the customer service is pretty good, but hopefully I won’t need it!

your remote start is no good

September 20, 2024

I bought this generator for the dual fuel and the remote start. The remote control feature will enter {sleep mode} after 12 hours of inactivity. To reset the remote feature, simply cycle the power switch off then on again. With this system you have to have the power go off every 12 hours. My unite is in my shed I have to go to the shed when the power goes off to start the unit, witch makes the remote useless. This is a very bad design. I keep a battery tender on the battery at all times, so the battery want run down. PULSAR SHOULD FIX THIS
