Have had for 2 years now, I use it to supply power to my skoolie RV and only run it on propane. Its does an excellent job. It runs constantly for 3 to 4 days no issues. Easy start and quiet. Can't go wrong with this generator!

We bought the Pulsar GD400BN Dual Fuel Generator because it will be stored inside our campervan, so we needed the propane feature as even a residual amount of gasoline will permeate a camper. I like the gray & black color as we stealth camp quite a bit and it should help make it less noticeable when we are guerilla charging the battery bank. (My wife loves that it matches the interior of our van—kinda classes it up!) We have very limited space and the GD400BN is shorter than most of the 4000 Watt+ portable inverter generators, so it fits under the bed perfectly. It's not ultra quiet, but is acceptable considering the potential power output. I find its sound level comparable to the other inverter generators out there. The Owner's Manual did not have break-in instructions, but a nice lady in Technical Support answered the phone promptly and texted me the procedure. Also, the Owner's Manual said to set it to START for propane, but it is designed not do that. The START (Choke) setting appears to be strictly for gasoline operation. On your first propane operation, I recommend you open up your propane source, carefully loosen the hose connection at the front panel for two (2) seconds, purge the LPG hose of air, and retighten the connection—this will make it start more efficiently. On propane set the switch to RUN — it will never start on START. For oil servicing, the GD400BN comes with a flexible funnel- hose that screws into the oil dipstick threads to add the 10W30 oil provided. That same funnel-hose comes in extra handy for removing the oil when it comes time to change it. This generator can recharge the five hundred (500) Amp battery bank and run our 12-Volt air conditioner at the same time, but the noise level goes up substantially. (And the extension cord ends get very hot!) We have the ability to charge one battery at a time, and that reduces the noise to acceptable campground levels. Vehicle alternators can only charge 50-amps with a DC-DC charger, which takes a long day of driving, so the ability to charge faster with the Pulsar GD400BN connected through our shore powered 75-Amp power converter helps get the job done faster. What else, what else?—Induction cooktops generally need a pure sine wave, and the inverter on the GD400BN is clean enough to run our induction stove directly from the shore power. We haven't owned our new Pulsar GD400BN for very long, but I have a feeling we will be very satisfied. I gave it four stars as I wish it was a little quieter, but then again it's one heckuva machine for the money. If I could give it 4.75 stars, I would.

I have a 7500 watt other generator to run my house during power outages. Just for giggles I used this generator on the last outage. It ran 2 refrigerators, stand up freezer, well pump, hot water tank, furnace, a dehumidifier, Starlink, 2 tvs, lights and a ps5!!!! Buying another one!

I've been using this generator exclusively with a travel trailer and only on propane. I've not tried it with gasoline. It starts up quickly and works great. To date I've used it for maybe 5 hours total but it's worked flawlessly. Easy to start and fairly quiet. It is a little heavy but still very manageable for 1 person to carry in and out of the camper. I love the fact that since it runs on propane, I can store it inside the camper with no gasoline smell. I would recommend this generator for ease of use, low price and so far, dependable. There is one negative though, changing the oil is impossible to do without making a mess. There is no way to drain the oil without spilling into the plastic generator housing. Just a dumb design. If they had extended the oil fill tube by just a few inches, it would have worked fine. Instead, it's short and difficult to drain without making a big oil mess. I'm hoping to make some sort of tube to screw in to make this easier and no mess.Other than that, its a nice generator.
